Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
I swear by the emissary winds, sent one after another (for men's benefit), 1 And those that strike violently, 2 by the scatterers scattering 3 And the scattering winds scattering. 4 Then I swear by the angels who bring down the revelation, 5 By way of excuse or warning. 6 that whatever with which you have been warned will inevitably come to pass. 7 Then the stars will lose their light. 8 Heavens will rent asunder. 9 The mountains reduced to dust and blown away, 10 And when the Messengers are gathered to their time appointed; 11 for what Day has this been appointed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Decision? 14 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 15 Did We not destroy the former peoples? 16 We will now cause the later ones to follow them: 17 thus do We deal with the culprits. 18 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 For a known calculated term. 22 We determined, how excellent a Determiner are We! 23 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 24 Did We not make the earth as a gathering place 25 the living and the dead? 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and given you fresh water to drink? 27 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 "Depart you to a shadow (of Hell-fire smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 Neither having the coolness of the shade nor availing against the flame. 31 it throws spits as (high as a huge) palace, 32 "As if there were (a string of) yellow camels (marching swiftly)." 33 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 34 This is the Day they shall not speak, 35 And permission shall not be given to them so that they should offer excuses. 36 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 37 That will be a Day of Decision! We have brought you and the men of old together! 38 So if you have any ploy, try it against Me! 39 Woe on the day unto the beliers! 40
