The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven bursts asunder, 1 And hearkens to its Lord and is dutiful, 2 when earth is stretched out 3 And casts forth what is in it and becomes empty, 4 and obeys its Lord as it must, 5 O man! Verily, you are returning towards your Lord with your deeds and actions (good or bad), a sure returning, so you will meet (i.e. the results of your deeds which you did). 6 Then as to him who shall be given his book in his right hand 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 And will return to his family in joy! 9 But as for those whose Book of records will be given behind their backs, 10 he will pray for utter destruction 11 And will go into the blazing fire. 12 Verily he was among his people joyous. 13 and had thought that they would never be brought back to life again. 14 This is a fact. Their Lord is Well-Aware of (all that they do). 15 Oh, I swear by the afterglow of sunset, 16 And [by] the night and what it envelops 17 And by oath of the moon when it is full. 18 you shall surely ride stage after stage. 19 What is the matter with them, that they believe not? 20 And, when the Qur'an is recited unto them, worship not (Allah)? ۩ 21 But on the contrary the Unbelievers reject (it). 22 Yet God has full knowledge of what they conceal [in their hearts]. 23 Wherefore announce thou unto them a torment afflictive. 24 Except to those who believe and work righteous deeds: For them is a Reward that will never fail. 25
