The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the heavens and al-tariq. 1 what do you know what the night-visitor is? 2 It is the star that shines with a piercing brightness -- 3 Over every soul there is a watcher. 4 LET MAN, then, observe out of what he has been created: 5 He is created from a gushing fluid 6 Issuing from (the pelvis) between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Surely He (the Creator) has the power to bring him back (to life). 8 On the Day when man's deepest secrets shall be put to the test 9 Then will (man) have no power, nor any helper. 10 By the Firmament which returns (in its round), 11 And the earth splitting (with plants); 12 Indeed, the Qur'an is a decisive statement, 13 It is no pleasantry. 14 They are devising guile, 15 And I am plotting a plot. 16 So respite the unbelievers; delay with them awhile. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
