(O Messenger! Remind the Muslims of the occasion) when you went forth from your home at early dawn (to the battlefield of Uhud) and placed the believers in battle arrays. Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing. 121 When two parties from among you had determined that they should show cowardice, and Allah was the guardian of them both, and in Allah should the believers trust. 122 And Allah has already made you victorious at Badr, when you were a weak little force. So fear Allah much [abstain from all kinds of sins and evil deeds which He has forbidden and love Allah much, perform all kinds of good deeds which He has ordained] that you may be grateful. 123 Remember when you said to the faithful: "Is it not sufficient that your Lord should send for your help three thousand angels from the heavens? 124 Indeed if you are patient and take heed for yourselves, and the (enemy) come rushing at you suddenly your Lord will send even five thousand angels on chargers sweeping down." 125 and God ordained this only as good news for you so that your hearts might be comforted, help comes only from God, the Powerful, the Wise One, 126 And that He might cut off a part of those who disbelieve or suppress them, so that they will turn back, disappointed. 127 [And] it is in no wise for thee [O Prophet] to decide whether He shall accept their repentance or chastise them - for, behold, they are but wrongdoers, 128 And to Allah belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth. He forgives whom He wills, and punishes whom He wills. And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. 129
