A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Lam. Mim. Sad. 1 This Book has been sent down to you; so do not hesitate to warn (the unbelievers) through it, and remind the faithful. 2 [O men!] Follow what has been revealed to you from your Lord and follow no masters other than Him. Little are you admonished. 3 How many towns have We destroyed (for their sins)? Our punishment took them on a sudden by night or while they slept for their afternoon rest. 4 And when Our punishment came upon them, they had nothing to say for themselves, and could only cry, "Verily, we were wrongdoers!" 5 Then shall we question those to whom Our message was sent and those by whom We sent it. 6 And verily, We shall recount their whole story with knowledge, for We were never absent (at any time or place). 7 And the weighing on that Day is certain, then whosesoever balances will be heavy, those! they shall fare well. 8 And as for those whose scale is light: those are they who lose their souls because they used to wrong Our revelations. 9 We assuredly established you in the earth and arranged for your livelihood in it. Little do you give thanks. 10
