Seest thou one who turns back, 33 Who gives but little, and is niggardly? 34 Does he have knowledge of the hidden, so he can foresee? 35 Has not he been informed of the contents of the Book of Moses 36 and about Abraham who fulfilled his duty (to God)? 37 “That no bearer of a burden shall bear the burden of another, 38 And that man hath only that for which he maketh effort, 39 And that his striving shall soon be seen- 40 And afterward he will be repaid for it with fullest payment; 41 and that the final return is to your Lord, 42 It is He who causes laughter and weeping. 43 and that it is He alone who deals death and grants life; 44 And that He createth the pair, the male and the female. 45 of a sperm-drop, when it was cast forth, 46 and that upon Him rests the second growth, 47 And that it is He Who enricheth and preserveth property. 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius. 49 that it was He that destroyed ancient Aad 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace of them, 51 And also the people of Nuh aforetime. Verily they were even greater wrong-doers and more contumacious. 52 He plunged the villages 53 And covered them by that which He covered. 54 Then which of thy Lord's bounties disputest thou? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The Day of Resurrection draws near, 57 None beside Allah can disclose it. 58 Does this statement seem strange to them 59 And you laugh and do not weep 60 And ye are behaving proudly. 61 So bow yourselves before God, and serve Him! ۩ 62
