Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Blessed is He in Whose hand is the kingdom, and He has power over all things, 1 Who created death and life that He may try you-- which of you is best in deeds; and He is the Mighty, the Forgiving, 2 Who has created the seven heavens one above another, you can see no fault in the creations of the Most Beneficent. Then look again: "Can you see any rifts?" 3 Again turn thy vision a second time: (thy) vision will come back to thee dull and discomfited, in a state worn out. 4 We have adorned the lower heaven with lamps, and We made them a stoning for the satans, We have prepared the punishment of the Blaze for them. 5 And for those who disbelieve in their Lord is the punishment of hell, and evil is the resort. 6 When they will be cast thereinto, they will hear thereof a braying even as it boileth up, 7 It almost explodes in rage. Whenever a group is thrown into it, its keepers will ask them, "Did no one come to warn you?" 8 They will say: "Yes indeed; a Warner did come to us, but we rejected him and said, 'Allah never sent down any (Message): ye are nothing but an egregious delusion!'" 9 And they will say: had we been wont to hearken or to reflect, we had not been among the fellows of the Blaze. 10 They will then confess their sins: but far will be (Forgiveness) from the Companions of the Blazing Fire! 11 Verily those who dread their Lord unseen, theirs shall be forgiveness and a great hire. 12 Whether you speak in secrecy or aloud, (it is all the same to Allah). He even knows the secrets that lie hidden in the breasts of people. 13 How could He who created not know His own creation, when He alone is the Most Subtle in His wisdom and the All Aware? 14
