The Sun (Al-Shams)
15 verses, revealed in Mecca after Destiny (Al-Qadr) before The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the sun and his brightness, 1 and by the moon as it follows it; 2 And the day when it shows it, 3 By the Night as it conceals it; 4 by the sky and how He built it 5 And by the earth and Him Who spread it, 6 by the soul and how He formed it, 7 And inspired it with the wickedness thereof and the piety thereof, 8 Prosperous is he who purifies it, 9 and truly lost is he who buries it [in darkness]. 10 The Thamud denied (the truth) in their perverseness 11 When among them the great wretch arose, 12 then the Messenger of God said to them, 'The She-camel of God; let her drink!' 13 But they denied him, and they hamstrung her, so Allah doomed them for their sin and rased (their dwellings). 14 He dreadeth not the sequel (of events). 15
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
