Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By oath of those which carry away while dispersing. 1 Then those clouds bearing the load (of minute things in space). 2 by the ships which smoothly sail on the oceans, 3 Then by oath of those which distribute by the command. 4 that what you are promised is certainly true 5 and, verily, judgment is bound to come! 6 I swear by the heaven full of ways. 7 Lo! ye, forsooth, are of various opinion (concerning the truth). 8 Turned aside therefrom is who is turned aside. 9 Death to those whose opinions are merely baseless conjectures. 10 who are dazed in perplexity 11 'When will the Day of Judgement be' they ask. 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (and tested) over the Fire! 13 "Taste ye your trial! This is what ye used to ask to be hastened!" 14 Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be in gardens and fountains. 15 enjoying all that their Sustainer will have granted them [because,] verily, they were doers of good in the past: 16 they used to sleep but little by night, 17 And in the hours before dawn, they were (found) asking (Allah) for forgiveness, 18 And in their properties there was the right of the beggar, and the Mahrum (the poor who does not ask the others). 19 On the earth, and in yourselves, 20 And in your own selves; so can you not perceive? 21 And in the heaven is your sustenance and what you are threatened with. 22 Then, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is the truth (i.e. what has been promised to you), just as it is the truth that you can speak. 23
