The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Event (the resurrection) comes 1 Then will no (soul) entertain falsehood concerning its coming. 2 Abasing exalting. 3 When the earth shall be shaken to its depths, 4 And the mountains will be powdered to dust. 5 becoming scattered dust, 6 And ye shall be sorted out into three classes. 7 Those on the right hand; how happy shall those on the right hand be! 8 Those on the Left -- how unlucky are those on the Left! 9 The third to the fore shall be the foremost. 10 They shall be near-stationed (to their Lord), 11 They are in Gardens of peace. 12 A large group from the earlier generations. 13 and only a few of them from the later generations. 14 On studded thrones. 15 reclining on them facing each other; 16 (and there) shall wait on them immortal youths 17 with goblets, and ewers, and a cup from a spring 18 Their heads shall not ache with it, nor shall they lose their senses. 19 Also, they will be served with the fruits of their choice 20 and with the flesh of any fowl that they may desire to eat; 21 And wide eyed houris 22 Like unto Pearls well-guarded. 23 A reward for what they used to do. 24 They will not hear any useless speech in it, or any sin. 25 But only the saying of: Salam!, Salam! (greetings with peace)! 26 The Companions of the Right Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Right Hand? 27 (They will be) among thornless lote-trees, 28 And acacia covered with heaps of bloom, 29 And a shade ever-spread. 30 and flowing water 31 And plenty of fruits. 32 unfailing and not forbidden. 33 on raised couches. 34 and their spouses We shall have brought them into being afresh, 35 and We made them spotless virgins, 36 The beloved of their husbands, of one age. 37 for those on the Right, 38
