▼ 74 The Hidden Secret
Al-Muddath-thir 2 of 2
No! By the moon 32 And the night when it withdraweth 33 And the dawn when it shineth forth, 34 Surely it (hell) is one of the gravest (misfortunes), 35 A warning unto humankind 36 To whoever wills among you to proceed or stay behind. 37 Every soul is pledged to what it does, 38 Except the Companions of the Right Hand. 39 who shall be in the Gardens, and shall ask 40 about the guilty ones: 41 "What was it that brought you to Hell?" 42 and they shall reply, "We were not among those who prayed; 43 "Nor were we of those who fed the indigent; 44 We plunged in with the plungers 45 And rejected the Day of Judgement as a lie 46 until certainty came upon us [in death]." 47 So the intercession of intercessors shall not avail them. 48 What ails them, that they turn away from the Reminder, 49 like frightened donkeys 50 fleeing before a lion? 51 Forsooth, each one of them wants to be given scrolls (of revelation) spread out! 52 Never! In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 No! Indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder 54 so whoever wills shall remember it. 55 And what advice will they heed, except if Allah wills? Only He deserves to be feared, and His only is the greatness of forgiving. 56
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
