Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. 2 Does man think that We shall not gather his bones? 3 Yea, verily. We are Able to restore his very fingers! 4 None the less man chooses to deny what lies ahead of him, 5 he asks, "When is this Day of Resurrection to be?" 6 So when vision is dazzled 7 The moon eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are joined together, 9 on that Day will man exclaim "Whither to flee?" 10 Never so, for there will be no escape. 11 on that Day, to your Lord alone is the recourse. 12 Man shall on that day be informed of what he sent before and (what he) put off. 13 nay, man shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 Though he puts forth his excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue concerning the (Qur'an) to make haste therewith. 16 Verily upon us is the collecting thereof and the reciting thereof. 17 Therefore when We have recited it, follow its recitation. 18 Then lo! upon Us (resteth) the explanation thereof. 19 Nay, (ye men!) but ye love the fleeting life, 20 And leave (neglect) the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will on that Day be bright with happiness, 22 and will be looking towards their Lord; 23 And (other) faces on that day shall be gloomy, 24 knowing that a crushing calamity is about to befall them. 25 No! When the soul has reached the collar bones 26 And men say: Where is the wizard (who can save him now)? 27 And he bethinketh that it is the time of parting. 28 And one shank is entangled with the other shank. 29 Unto thy Lord that day will be the driving. 30
