Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
HAS THERE COME unto thee the tiding of the Overshadowing Event? 1 Faces on that Day shall be downcast, 2 Labouring, wearied out, 3 they shall burn in a Scorching Fire; 4 They will be given to drink from a boiling spring, 5 they shall have no food but thorns, 6 which will neither fatten them nor satisfy them. 7 (Other) faces that Day will be joyful, 8 Rejoicing over their efforts. 9 In a Garden on high, 10 In which they will not hear any lewd speech. 11 with a flowing spring, 12 Within it are couches raised high 13 And cups set at hand. 14 And cushions ranged 15 And carpets spread out. 16 Do they not look at the camels, how they are created? 17 how heaven was lifted up, 18 and how the mountains were firmly fixed? 19 and how the earth is spread out? 20 So, [O Prophet] exhort them: your task is only to exhort, 21 You are not charged to oversee them. 22 But whoso is averse and disbelieveth, 23 God shall chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 Indeed, to Us they shall return, 25 Then it will be for Us to call them to account. 26
