The prople of Lout (Lot) (those dwelt in the towns of Sodom in Palestine) belied the Messengers. 160 When their brother Lot said to them: "Will you not take heed? 161 "Verily! I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 162 "So fear Allah and obey me. 163 "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the lord of the Worlds. 164 What, do you come to the males of the world, 165 leaving your wives that your Lord created for you? Nay, but you are a people of transgressors. 166 They said, 'If thou givest not over, Lot, thou shalt assuredly be one of the expelled.' 167 He said: "I am, indeed, of those who disapprove with severe anger and fury your (this evil) action (of sodomy). 168 "My Lord! Save me and my family from what they do." 169 Thereupon We saved him and all his household 170 Save an old woman among those who stayed behind. 171 then We totally destroyed the rest, 172 We rained upon them a rain, and evil is the rain (of stones) on those that are warned. 173 Verily, in this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 174 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 175
