The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by (the angels) who stand in ranks, 1 by those who drive away the devil (to protect Our revelation), 2 And by oath of the groups that read the Qur’an. 3 Verily your Ilah (God) is indeed One (i.e. Allah); 4 Lord of the heavens and the earth and everything between them; Lord of the Easts. 5 Behold, We have adorned the skies nearest to the earth with the beauty of stars, 6 And to protect it from every rebellious devil. 7 They cannot listen to the speech of those on higher elevations and they are targeted from every side. 8 Being driven off, and for them is a perpetual chastisement, 9 Some of them who stealthily steal words from the heavens are pursued by a glistening flame. 10 So ask them if they are more difficult to create, or the rest We have created? Indeed (man) We created from fermented clay. 11 Nay! you wonder while they mock, 12 They pay no attention when they are reminded 13 and when they become aware of a [divine] message, they turn it to ridicule 14 And they say: this Qur'an is naught but magic manifest. 15 Why - after we have died and become mere dust and bones, shall we, forsooth, be raised from the dead? 16 and perhaps also our forebears of old?" 17 You say: "Yes; and you will be lowly made." 18 So it shall only be a single cry, when lo! they shall see. 19 and they will say: 'Woe for us. This is the Day of Recompense' 20 This is the day of the judgment which you called a lie. 21
