So did you observe him who turned away? 33 And gave a little, then stopped (giving)? 34 Has he the knowledge of the unseen so that he can see? 35 Has he not been informed of what is in the Scrolls of Moses, 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his engagements?- 37 That no bearer of burden shall bear the burden of another- 38 And that man will not obtain anything except what he strove for? 39 That his endeavours will be judged, 40 Then he will be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense 41 And that thy Lord, He is the goal; 42 That it is He who makes you happy and morose, 43 And that He it is Who causes death and gives life- 44 and that it is He who creates the two kinds - the male and the female 45 from a drop of sperm when it was emitted, 46 And that on Him is the bringing forth a second time; 47 and that it is He alone who frees from want and causes to possess; 48 And that He (Allah) is the Lord of Sirius (the star which the pagan Arabs used to worship); 49 and that He destroyed Ad, the ancient, 50 And Thamud - and He did not spare [them] - 51 and that He it is Who destroyed the people of Noah before for they were much given to iniquity and transgression. 52 And He destroyed the Overthrown Cities (of Sodom and Gomorrah). 53 Then covered them with that which covered them. 54 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 55 He (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) is a Herald of Warning, like the former Heralds of Warning. 56 The Approaching Day has approached. 57 There shall be none besides Allah to remove it. 58 Do you then wonder at this announcement? 59 Will you laugh at it rather than weep? 60 indulging in carelessly idle games? 61 So prostrate yourselves before God and worship him. ۩ 62
