The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ What do they question each other about! 1 Concerning the Great News, 2 on which they [so utterly] disagree. 3 No! They are going to know. 4 They will indeed come to know soon. 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse. 6 And the mountains as projections (thereon)? 7 Have We not created you in pairs, 8 And made your sleep a rest. 9 And We made the night to be a covering, 10 and We appointed day for a livelihood. 11 And constructed above you seven strong [heavens] 12 (the sun) as a shining torch 13 and have sent down from the clouds, pouring rain 14 That We may produce from it grain and vegetation, 15 And gardens of luxurious growth? 16 VERILY, the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false] has indeed its appointed time: 17 The day on which the trumpet shall be blown so you shall come forth in hosts, 18 and the heaven shall be opened, and become gates, 19 And the mountains will be moved – they will therefore become like mirages. 20 Truly Hell is as a place of ambush, 21 a goal for all who are wont to transgress the bounds of what is right! 22 In which they will remain for ages [unending]. 23 Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink. 24 Except scalding water and [foul] purulence - 25 a meet requital [for their sins]! 26 Indeed, they did not hope for a Reckoning, 27 And they belied Our revelations with strong belying. 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 So taste you (the results of your evil actions); no increase shall We give you, except in torment. 30
