The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
When the sun is covered, 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 when the savage beasts shall be brought together, 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 For what sin she was killed? 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 And when the sky is torn away, 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 The planets withdrawing into themselves, 16 And by the night when it departeth, 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 That this is indeed the word of an honoured Messenger, 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 obeyed by (all creatures) and faithful to His trust. 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 he truly beheld [the angel - beheld] him on the clear horizon; 23 He is not chary of making public what is unknown. 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 Whither, then, will you go? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Sustainer of all the worlds, wills [to show you that way]. 29
