The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the sky is torn apart, 1 And obeys its Lord and it must. 2 when the earth flattens out, 3 and casts forth whatever is in it, and becomes utterly void, 4 And obeys its Lord and it must. 5 O man! verily thou art toiling toward thy Lord a painful toiling, and art about to meet Him. 6 So whoever is given his record of deeds in his right hand – 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 And will return to his family in joy! 9 But as for him whose record shall be given to him behind his back; 10 he will in time pray for utter destruction: 11 But will be roasted in the fire. 12 He verily lived joyous with his folk, 13 Indeed, he had thought he would never return [to Allah]. 14 Yes indeed, his Lord was ever watching him. 15 Oh, I swear by the afterglow of sunset, 16 And by the night and that which it driveth together, 17 And by oath of the moon when it is full. 18 Ye shall surely travel from stage to stage. 19 So, what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 And when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate [to Allah]? ۩ 21 Nay, (on the contrary), those who disbelieve, belie (Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) and whatever he brought, i.e. this Quran and Islamic Monotheism, etc.). 22 And Allah is most knowing of what they keep within themselves. 23 So give them news of painful punishment, 24 except those that believe, and do righteous deeds -- theirs shall be a wage unfailing. 25
