And when the messengers came unto the family of Lot, 61 he said: "Behold, you are people unknown [here]!" 62 They said: Nay, we have come to you with that about which they disputed. 63 "Yet we bring to you the truth, and we are truthful. 64 Go, then, with thy household while it is yet night, with thyself following them in the rear; and let none of you look back, but proceed whither you are bidden." 65 And We communicated to him the decree that by the morning those people will be totally destroyed. 66 In the meantime the people of the city came to Lot rejoicing. 67 He said: 'These are my guests; do not shame me. 68 Have fear of God and do not humiliate me". 69 "Did we not restrain you," they said, "from (entertaining) creatures from the outside world?" 70 He said: these are my daughters, if act ye must. 71 By thy life (O Muhammad) they moved blindly in the frenzy of approaching death. 72 So As-Saihah (torment - awful cry, etc.) overtook them at the time of sunrise; 73 We laid it (the city) upside down and rained stones of baked clay upon them. 74 Behold! in this are Signs for those who by tokens do understand. 75 And verily they are on a pathway lasting. 76 Indeed there is a portent in this for those who believe. 77 And the dwellers of the thicket also were most surely unjust. 78 So We punished them too. They are both situated by the highway, clearly visible. 79
