And the chiefs of his people who disbelieved and called the meeting of the hereafter a lie, and whom We had given plenty to enjoy in this world's life, said: This is nothing but a mortal like yourselves, eating of what you eat from and drinking of what you drink. 33 And if you should obey a man like yourselves, indeed, you would then be losers. 34 "Does he promise that when ye die and become dust and bones, ye shall be brought forth (again)? 35 ۞ After, after with that which you are promised! 36 This is our only life. We live and will die but we will never be brought back to life again. 37 “He is just a man who has fabricated a lie against Allah, and we are not going to believe him.” 38 The Messenger said: "My Lord! Come to my help at their accusing me of lying." 39 Allah said: after a little while they will become regretful. 40 So As-Saihah (torment - awful cry, etc.) overtook them with justice, and We made them as rubbish of dead plants. So away with the people who are Zalimun (polytheists, wrong-doers, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, disobedient to His Messengers, etc.). 41 After them We brought another generation into existence. 42 no nation outstrips its term, nor do they put it back. 43 Then We sent Our messengers in succession. Every time there came to a nation its messenger, they denied him, so We made them follow one another [to destruction], and We made them narrations. So away with a people who do not believe. 44 We then sent Moosa and his brother Haroon, with Our signs and a clear proof. 45 unto Pharaoh and his great ones; but these behaved with arrogance, for they were people wont to glorify [only] themselves. 46 And said: "Should we believe in two men like yourselves, whose people are our subjects?" 47 So they rejected them, calling them liars, and they too eventually became of those that were destroyed. 48 And We gave Moses the Book, in order that they might be guided. 49 And We made the son of Marium and his mother a sign, and We gave them a shelter on a lofty ground having meadows and springs. 50
