The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ What are they asking (one another)? 1 About the great tidings! 2 whereon they are at variance. 3 But they will soon come to know. 4 Verily, verily they shall soon (come to) know! 5 Have We not made the earth as a cradle 6 And the high hills bulwarks? 7 And We have created you in pairs. 8 and gave you repose in sleep, 9 And made the night as clothing 10 and the day as time for you to make a living? 11 And We built above you seven strong ones, 12 and placed in them a blazing lamp 13 And We have sent down from the rain-clouds water plenteous. 14 That We may produce therewith corn and vegetations, 15 And gardens of entwined growth. 16 Verily the Day of Sorting out is a thing appointed, 17 The day the trumpet blast is sounded you will come in hordes; 18 And the heaven is opened and becometh as gates, 19 And the hills are set in motion and become as a mirage. 20 Hell will lie in wait (for its prey). 21 A place of resort for the inordinate, 22 They will abide therein for ages, 23 They will not taste therein cool or any drink. 24 except boiling water and pus, 25 Recompense fitted! 26 Indeed they had no fear of the account. 27 But they (impudently) treated Our Signs as false. 28 And We have recorded everything in a book, 29 [And so We shall say:] "Taste, then, [the fruit of your evil doings,] for now We shall bestow on you nothing but more and more suffering!" 30

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
