The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate

I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- 1 And what can make you know what is the night comer? 2 The very brightly shining star! 3 For every soul there is a watcher. 4 So let man observe from what he was created. 5 He is created of water pouring forth, 6 emanating from between the loins and the ribs. 7 He certainly has the power to bring him back to life. 8 On the day when all secrets will be made public, 9 So man will neither have any strength nor any aide. 10 I swear by the raingiving heavens, 11 And the earth which opens up (with verdure), 12 this is indeed a Decisive Word, 13 And is not a matter of amusement. 14 They are devising guile, 15 And I (too) will make a scheme. 16 So leave the unbelievers to themselves; respite them awhile. 17
