The people of Lot denied the messengers 160 when their brother Lot said to them, 'Will you not be godfearing? 161 I have been sent as a trusted messenger to you. 162 Have fear of God and obey me. 163 I do not ask any payment for my preaching. I shall receive my reward from the Lord of the Universe. 164 Go ye in, of all creatures, unto the males? 165 And leave ye your spouses your Lord hath created for you? Aye! ye are a people trespassing. 166 They said: if thou desistest not, O Lut! thou shalt surely be of those driven forth. 167 He said, "I certainly hate what you practice. 168 Lord, save me and my family from their deeds." 169 Thereupon We saved him and all his household 170 Save an old woman among the lingerers. 171 Then We destroyed the rest of them, 172 And We rained down upon them a rain, and evil was the rain on those warned. 173 Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 174 And verily! Your Lord, He is indeed the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 175
