The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ What do they quarrel about? 1 About the great news - 2 that they are in utter disagreement? 3 No indeed; they shall soon know! 4 Surely, they will soon find out the truth! 5 HAVE WE NOT made the earth a resting-place [for you,] 6 and the mountains [its] pegs? 7 And We have created you in pairs. 8 And We have made your sleep as a rest. 9 and We made the night a mantle, 10 And made the day as a means of subsistence? 11 We have built above you seven mighty heavens, 12 And placed a lamp therein brightly burning. 13 And have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant water, 14 That We may produce therewith corn and vegetations, 15 And gardens of thick growth. 16 Surely, the Day of Judgement has an appointed time. 17 The day the trumpet blast is sounded you will come in hordes; 18 And the heaven shall be opened, and it will become as gates, 19 And the mountains shall vanish, as if they were a mirage. 20 Certainly Hell lies in wait, 21 The rebels' abode, 22 Living therein for ages. 23 they shall taste in it no coolness, nor any pleasant drink 24 except boiling water and pus 25 An exact recompense (according to their evil crimes). 26 Surely they feared not the account, 27 And rejected Our signs as lies. 28 And everything have We recorded in a Book. 29 'Taste! We shall not increase you except in punishment' 30
