HAST THOU, then, ever considered him who turns away [from remembering Us, and cares for no more than the life of this world,] 33 And gives a little and (then) withholds. 34 Does he [claim to] have knowledge of something that is beyond the reach of human perception, so that he can see [it clearly]? 35 Has he not been made acquainted with what was written in the scriptures of Moses? 36 And Abraham who paid his debt: 37 To wit, that a burthened soul shall not bear the burthen of another. 38 And that man hath only that for which he maketh effort, 39 and that his labouring shall surely be seen, 40 Thereafter he shall be recompensed therefor with the fullest recompense. 41 And that the end is only towards your Lord? 42 And that it is He (Allah) Who makes (whom He wills) laugh, and makes (whom He wills) weep; 43 and that it is He alone who deals death and grants life; 44 and that it is He who creates the two kinds - the male and the female 45 From a seed when lodged (in its place); 46 and that upon Him is the second creation 47 And that it is He Who has given wealth and contentment? 48 And that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius 49 It was He who totally destroyed the former 'Ad 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace of them, 51 And before them, the people of Noah, for that they were (all) most unjust and most insolent transgressors, 52 And the overturned towns He hurled down 53 so that there came upon them that which came. 54 Then which of the Graces of your Lord (O man!) will you doubt. 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 What is to come is imminent. 57 None beside Allah can disclose it. 58 Do ye then wonder at this recital? 59 and do you laugh, and do you not weep, 60 And you are lost in play! 61 Bow instead in adoration before God and worship Him. ۩ 62
