The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
The Hour has drawn nigh: the moon is split. 1 Yet if they see a sign they turn away, and they say 'A continuous sorcery!' 2 They belied (the Verses of Allah, this Quran), and followed their own lusts. And every matter will be settled [according to the kind of deeds (for the doer of good deeds, his deeds will take him to Paradise, and similarly evil deeds will take their doers to Hell)]. 3 And there has already come to them of information that in which there is deterrence - 4 Effective wisdom; but warnings avail not. 5 Therefore, turn away from them. On the Day when the Caller summons them to a terrible thing, 6 They will come out from the graves with eyes lowered, as if they were spread locusts. 7 Rushing towards the caller; the disbelievers will say, “This is a tough day.” 8 ۞ Before them the People of Noah rejected (their messenger): they rejected Our servant, and said, "Here is one possessed!", and he was driven out. 9 so he cried out to his Lord, saying, "I am overcome, so help me!" 10 Then We opened the gates of heaven unto water torrential, 11 And caused the earth to gush forth springs, so that the waters met for a predestined purpose. 12 but him We bore on that [vessel] made of [mere] planks and nails, 13 that ran on under Our Eyes, a recompense for him because he had been disbelieved. 14 And certainly We left it as a sign, but is there anyone who 15 How (great) was then My punishment and My warning! 16 And assuredly We have made the Qur'an easy for admonition; is there then any one who would be admonished? 17 Ad cried lies. How then were My chastisement and My warnings? 18 Verily, We sent against them a furious wind of harsh voice on a day of evil omen and continuous calamity. 19 which hurled people around like uprooted trunks of palm-trees. 20 How was then My punishment and My commination! 21 And certainly We have made the Quran easy for remembrance, but is there anyone who will mind? 22
