The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Of what do they ask one another? 1 About the great tidings! 2 Regarding which they hold different views. 3 By no means! anon they shall know. 4 Nay, again, but they will come to know! 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse, 6 and the mountains as pegs (to anchor the earth)? 7 We created you in pairs, 8 And We have made your sleep as a rest. 9 And made the night a cover. 10 and We appointed day for a livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven strong (heavens), 12 and placed in them a blazing lamp 13 And sent down, from the rain clouds, pouring water 14 That We may produce from it grain and vegetation, 15 and gardens dense with foliage. 16 Surely the Day of Decision is an appointed time, 17 The Day that the Trumpet shall be sounded, and ye shall come forth in crowds; 18 And the heaven is opened and becometh as gates, 19 and the mountains are set in motion, and become a vapour. 20 Indeed, Hell has been lying in wait 21 The rebels' abode, 22 They will tarry therein for ages. 23 They shall not taste therein cool nor drink 24 save boiling water and wash of the wounds; 25 Reward proportioned (to their evil deeds). 26 For indeed they did not look forward to any reckoning, 27 And called Our communications a lie, giving the lie (to the truth). 28 but We have placed on record every single thing [of what they did]. 29 'Taste! We shall not increase you except in punishment' 30

كيف تعمل منظومة تمارين الحفظ؟ عند أدنى مستوى 0، تكون كل الكلمات ظاهرة. بينما يُخفي أعلى مستوى 9 كل الكلمات. فكيف تعمل المستويات المتوسطة، مثل 3، على سبيل المثال؟ قد تعتقد بأن المنظومة تخفي 3 من كل تسع كلمات بدقة. ليس تماما! في المستوى 3، لكل كلمة فرصة اختفاء بنسبة 3 من 9، و6 من 9 لتكون ظاهرة. بمعنى آخر، من الممكن، ولكن باحتمال شبة معدوم، أن تكون جميع كلمات المستوى 3 مخفية، أو أن تكون جميعها ظاهرة! وكذلك أيضًا، ففي المستويات المتوسطة، وبما يتناسب مع مستوى الصعوبة، يمكن أن تكون المخابئ غير كاملة أو شفافة جزئيًا بحيث تظهر الكلمات جزئيًا تحتها.
How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
