Say: I am only a warner, and there is no god but Allah, the One, the Subduer (of all): 65 Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, the Mighty, the Pardoning. 66 Say: It is a message of importance, 67 Whence ye turn away! 68 I had no knowledge of the High Council when they disputed. 69 I have only received revelation to give you plain warning. 70 Behold, thy Lord said to the angels: "I am about to create man from clay: 71 after I have shaped him and breathed of My spirit (I created) into him, fall down prostrate before him' 72 Thereupon the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together, 73 except Iblis. He waxed proud and became one of the unbelievers. 74 Said He, 'Iblis, what prevented thee to bow thyself before that I created with My own hands? Hast thou waxed proud, or art thou of the lofty ones?' 75 (Iblis) said: "I am better than he: thou createdst me from fire, and him thou createdst from clay." 76 The Lord said, "Get out of here. You deserve to be stoned! 77 and My curse shall remain upon you till the Day of Resurrection.” 78 Satan said: “My Lord, then grant me respite till the Day that they are raised up.” 79 The Lord said, "You will only be given a respite 80 "Till the Day of the time appointed." 81 He said: Then by Thy Might I will surely make them live an evil life, all, 82 "Except Thy Servants amongst them, sincere and purified (by Thy Grace)." 83 [And God] said: "This, then, is the truth! And this truth do I state: 84 That I shall fill hell with thee and with such of them as follow thee, together. 85 Say (Prophet Muhammad): 'For this I ask of you no wage, and I am not of those who take things upon themselves. 86 It is nothing but a reminder unto all beings, 87 and you shall surely know its tiding after a while.' 88
