Hast thou considered him who turns his back 33 And gives a little and (then) withholds. 34 Has he the knowledge of the unseen so that he can see? 35 Or has he never yet been told of what was [said] in the revelations of Moses, 36 And Abraham who paid his debt: 37 That no soul shall bear another's burden, 38 And that man can have nothing but what he does (good or bad). 39 and that in time [the nature of] all his striving will be shown [to him in its true light,] 40 and in the end he will be repaid for it in full; 41 And that the end is only towards your Lord? 42 It is He who causes laughter and weeping. 43 And that it is He Who causeth to die and causeth to live. 44 and that He Himself created the two sexes: male and female, 45 of a sperm-drop, when it was cast forth, 46 That the second creation is incumbent on Him; 47 And that it is He (Allah) Who gives much or a little (or gives wealth and contentment), 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius (the Mighty Star); 49 It is He who utterly destroyed the ancient tribes of Ad, 50 Thamud, 51 Like the people of Noah before them, who were surely oppressors and rebellious; 52 It is He who turned upside down the people of Lot 53 and caused them to be covered with that which He covered them with. 54 Which then of thy Lord's benefits wilt thou doubt? 55 This is a warning among the warnings of yore. 56 The (Judgment) ever approaching draws nigh: 57 There is no one to unveil it apart from God. 58 Do ye then wonder at this recital? 59 Or do you laugh, and do you not weep 60 while you make merry? 61 So bow yourselves before God, and serve Him! ۩ 62
