Nay, verily: By the Moon, 32 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 33 By the dawn when it lightens! 34 That (Hell) is surely one of the greater (signs), 35 As a warning unto men, 36 to everyone of you, whether he chooses to come forward or to hang back! 37 Every soul will be (held) in pledge for its deeds. 38 except the people of the right hand 39 In Gardens; they shall be asking, 40 concerning the sinners, 41 “What drove you to Hell?” 42 They will say: we have not been of those who prayed. 43 nor did we feed the destitute. 44 We indulged and persisted in useless disputes, 45 And we used to call the day of judgment a lie; 46 "Until there came to us (the death) that is certain." 47 The intercession of the intercessors shall then be of no avail to them. 48 What is the matter with people that they are turning away from this Exhortation, 49 as though they were frightened wild asses, 50 Fleeing from a hunter, or a lion, or a beast of prey. 51 Nay; every one of them desires that he may be given pages spread out; 52 No, indeed they have no fear of the Everlasting Life. 53 No, indeed, surely, this is a Reminder. 54 So whosoever willeth may heed it. 55 And what advice will they heed, except if Allah wills? Only He deserves to be feared, and His only is the greatness of forgiving. 56
