The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord, and it must needs (do so);- 2 And when the earth is spread out. 3 and casts forth what is in it, and voids itself, 4 And hearkens to its Lord and is dutiful, 5 Human being, you strive hard to get closer to your Lord, and so you will certainly receive the recompense (of your deeds). 6 Then, he who is given his Book in his right hand 7 He shall be reckoned with by an easy reckoning, 8 And he shall return unto his people joyfully. 9 But he who is given the Record behind his back, 10 He surely will invoke destruction 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 Indeed he used to rejoice in his home. 13 Never thinking he will return. 14 Yes indeed, his Lord was ever watching him. 15 No! I swear by the twilight 16 And by oath of the night and all that gathers in it. 17 and the moon when it is at the full, 18 You will surely go up level by level. 19 What is the matter with them, that they believe not? 20 Why, when the Quran is recited to them, do they not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 No, the unbelievers only belie, 22 Allah knows best what they are accumulating (in their Record). 23 So give them tidings of a painful punishment, 24 Except those who believe and do the right: For them there is reward unending. 25
