Hast thou considered him who turns his back 33 And gave little, and then stopped? 34 What! Has he knowledge of the Unseen so that he can see? 35 Or, has he not been informed of what is in the scriptures of Musa? 36 and of Abraham, who lived up to the trust? 37 That no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another 38 and that nought shall be accounted unto man but what he is striving for; 39 And that his deeds will be seen, 40 Thereafter he shall be recompensed therefor with the fullest recompense. 41 And that thy Lord, He is the goal; 42 And that He it is who maketh laugh, and maketh weep, 43 And that He it is Who giveth death and giveth life; 44 and that He Himself created the two kinds, male and female, 45 From seed when it is emitted. 46 and that upon Him rests the second growth, 47 and that it is He alone who frees from want and causes to possess; 48 And that He it is Who is the Lord of Sirius; 49 that He it is Who destroyed the ancient 'Ad, 50 And that Thamud! He left not. 51 and the people of Noah before -- certainly they did exceeding evil, and were insolent 52 He plunged the villages 53 So that (ruins unknown) have covered them up. 54 About which of the bounties of your Lord can they persistently dispute? 55 This is a warning among the warnings of yore. 56 The imminent Hour has drawn near, 57 [although] none but God can unveil it.... 58 Are you astonished at this news, 59 And laugh and not weep, 60 While you are indulging in varieties. 61 Prostrate yourselves before Allah, and serve Him. ۩ 62
