The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Read with the name of your Lord Who created, 1 created Man of a blood-clot. 2 Read! Your Lord is the Most Bountiful One 3 who taught by the pen, 4 Taught man that which he knew not. 5 Indeed, surely the human is very insolent 6 for he believes himself to be self-sufficient. 7 Surely your returning is to your Lord. 8 Have you seen the one who prohibits 9 A slave (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) when he prays? 10 Do you think he is rightly guided, 11 or if he commands others to maintain piety!? 12 What do you think? Have you seen if he belies and turns away, 13 Does he not know that Allah sees everything? 14 Nay, if he desist not, We shall most surely drag him down upon his forehead 15 his lying, sinful forelock. 16 Then let him call his associates; 17 We will call the guards of Hell (to deal with him)! 18 Nay, Obey not thou him. But prostrate thyself, and draw near (unto Allah). ۩ 19
