The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 and when the mountains are made to vanish, 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what sin she was killed 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 and when Heaven is laid bare; 11 And when the Scorch shall be made to blaze, 12 And when Paradise is brought near, 13 then shall a soul know what it has produced. 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 by the night swarming, 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 he indeed saw the message-bearer on the clear horizon; 23 And this Prophet is not miserly upon the hidden. (Allah gave the knowledge of the hidden to the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 So where are you going? 26 Verily this is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds: 27 to every one of you who wishes to tread the straight path. 28 And ye will not, unless (it be) that Allah willeth, the Lord of Creation. 29
