And Nuh did certainly call upon Us, and most excellent answerer of prayer are We. 75 for We saved him and his household from that awesome calamity, 76 And We made his offspring the survivors. 77 and We left him thus to be remembered among later generations: 78 Peace be upon Noah among all the peoples! 79 Thus do We surely reward the doers of good. 80 Verily he was of Our bondmen believing. 81 Then We drowned the other (disbelievers and polytheists, etc.). 82 ۞ Abraham was one of his followers. 83 Recall what time he came unto his Lord with a heart whole. 84 and said to his father and his people: “Whom do you worship? 85 Is it falsehood [as] gods other than Allah you desire? 86 What do you think of the Lord of the Worlds?" 87 Then he looked at the stars, looking up once, 88 and said, "Verily, I am sick [at heart]!" 89 So turning their backs, they went away from him. 90 Then he turned to their gods, and said, 'What do you eat? 91 What is amiss with you that you do not speak?" 92 And he turned upon them a blow with [his] right hand. 93 So the disbelievers came running towards him. 94 He answered: "Do you worship something that you [yourselves] have carved, 95 “Whereas Allah has created you and your actions?” 96 "Build a pyre for him and throw him into the raging fire." 97 And they designed a snare for him, but We made them the undermost. 98 And he said (after his rescue from the fire): "Verily, I am going to my Lord. He will guide me!" 99 My Lord, grant me a righteous (son)' 100 Wherefore We gave him the glad tidings of a boy gentle. 101 And when he reached with him [the age of] exertion, he said, "O my son, indeed I have seen in a dream that I [must] sacrifice you, so see what you think." He said, "O my father, do as you are commanded. You will find me, if Allah wills, of the steadfast." 102 So when they had both submitted their wills (to Allah), and he had laid him prostrate on his forehead (for sacrifice), 103 We called out to him, "Abraham, 104 you have fulfilled what you were commanded to do in your dream." Thus do We reward the righteous ones. 105 It was certainly an open trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice, 107 and left for him among the later folk 108 'Peace be upon Abraham!' 109 Thus do We reward the doers of good 110 Verily he was one of Our believing bondmen. 111 Then We gave him the good tidings of Isaac, a Prophet, one of the righteous. 112 And We blessed him and Is-haq; and of their offspring are some well-doers and some who wrong themselves manifestly. 113
