The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By oath of (mount) Tur. 1 By a Decree inscribed 2 On an open record. 3 And by oath of the Inhabited House. 4 By the roof elevated. 5 And [by] the sea filled [with fire], 6 The punishment of your Lord is certain to come. 7 Of it there is no averter. 8 On the day when the heavens will swiftly fly 9 And the mountains will move with a visible movement. 10 woe that day unto those that cry lies, 11 and amuse themselves with vain argumentation. 12 That Day shall they be thrust down to the Fire of Hell, irresistibly. 13 (And it is said unto them): This is the Fire which ye were wont to deny. 14 Is it magic then or do you not see? 15 Roast in it. Bear it with patience or impatience, it will be the same for you. You will be requited for what you had done." 16 Verily the God-fearing will be in Gardens and Delight. 17 Happy because of what their Lord hath given them, and (because) their Lord hath warded off from them the torment of hell-fire. 18 (They will be told): “Eat and drink to your hearts' content as a reward for your deeds.” 19 They will be reclining on thrones lined up, and We will marry them to fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes. 20 And those who accepted faith, and whose descendants followed them with faith – We have joined their descendants with them, and have not reduced anything for them from their deeds; every soul is trapped in its own deeds. 21 And We shall bestow on them fruit and meat in abundance - whatever they may desire: 22 They shall pass on to one another a cup that will incite neither levity nor sin. 23 ۞ And there will go round boy-servants of theirs, to serve them as if they were preserved pearls. 24 And some of them draw near to others, questioning. 25 Saying, “Indeed before this, we were in our houses, worried.” 26 and so God has graced us with His favour, and has warded off from us all suffering through the scorching winds [of frustration]. 27 Before, we were supplicating to Him. He is the Giving, the Most Merciful' 28
