The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the heaven and the night-comer 1 what do you know what the night-visitor is? 2 It is the star that shines with a piercing brightness -- 3 [for] no human being has been left unguarded. 4 Let man consider what he was made of: 5 he has been created out of a seminal fluid 6 issuing from between the loins [of man] and the pelvic arch [of woman]. 7 God has certainly power to bring him back (from the dead). 8 upon the day when the secrets are tried, 9 (Man) will have no power, and no helper. 10 Consider the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants) 12 Indeed the Qur’an is a decisive Word. 13 and is not to be taken lightly. 14 Surely they will make a scheme, 15 And I (too) will make a scheme. 16 So respite the unbelievers; delay with them awhile. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
