Said [Moses]: "O my Sustainer! Open up my heart [to Thy light,] 25 "And ease my task for me; 26 Remove the defect of my tongue 27 so that they may understand my speech; 28 Appoint for me a minister from my family 29 "Aaron, my brother; 30 "Increase my strength with him, 31 and let him share my task, 32 so that we may glorify 33 And remember You much. 34 Surely You know us well." 35 God said, "You have been granted your request, Moses." 36 “And indeed We had bestowed upon you a favour one more time.” 37 When We revealed to your mother what was revealed; 38 "Saying: 'Put him (the child) into the Tabut (a box or a case or a chest) and put it into the river (Nile), then the river shall cast it up on the bank, and there, an enemy of Mine and an enemy of his shall take him.' And I endued you with love from Me, in order that you may be brought up under My Eye, 39 Your sister went to them and said, "May I show you someone who will nurse this child?" We returned you to your mother to make her rejoice and forget her grief. You slew a man and We saved you from trouble. We tried you through various trials. Then you stayed some years with the people of Midian (Shu'ayb and his family) and after that you came back to Egypt as was ordained. 40 I chose you for Myself. 41 Go, you and your brother, with My signs and do not slacken in My remembrance. 42 Go ye twain unto Fir'awn, verily he hath waxen exorbitant, 43 "And speak to him mildly, perhaps he may accept admonition or fear Allah." 44 They both said, "Our Lord, We fear that he may commit some excess against us, or exceed all bounds in transgression." 45 'Fear not,' said He. 'Surely I shall be with you, hearing and seeing. 46 So go to him and say, 'Indeed, we are messengers of your Lord, so send with us the Children of Israel and do not torment them. We have come to you with a sign from your Lord. And peace will be upon he who follows the guidance. 47 'Truly, it has been revealed to us that the torment will be for him who denies [believes not in the Oneness of Allah, and in His Messengers, etc.], and turns away.'(from the truth and obedience of Allah)" 48 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "Who then, O Musa (Moses), is the Lord of you two?" 49 He said, 'Our Lord is He who gave everything its creation, then guided it.' 50 [Pharaoh] said, "Then what is the case of the former generations?" 51 Musa said: the knowledge thereof is with my Lord in the Book; my Lord erreth not, nor He forgetteth. 52 The One Who has made the earth a bed for you and kept operative roads for you in it and sent down water from the sky; so with it We produced different pairs of vegetation. 53 Eat and pasture your cattle: verily therein are signs for men of sagacity. 54
