a large group of the earlier people 39 And a crowd of the later. 40 The Companions of the Left. O Companions of the Left! 41 (they shall live) amid burning winds and boiling water, 42 And shadow of black smoke, 43 [shadows] neither cooling nor soothing. 44 Lo! heretofore they were effete with luxury 45 and had persisted in the Great Sin. 46 and would say: "What! After we have died and become mere dust and bones, shall we, forsooth, be raised from the dead? 47 What, and our fathers, the ancients' 48 Say: 'Those of ancient times and those of later times 49 shall all be brought together on an appointed Day. 50 Then shall you, O you who err and call it a lie! 51 shall all eat from the Tree of al-Zaqqum, 52 And fill (your) bellies with it; 53 "And drink Boiling Water on top of it: 54 You shall drink it as the thirsty camels drink." 55 This shall be their entertainment on the Day of Requital. 56 It is We Who have created you: why will ye not witness the Truth? 57 Have ye seen that which ye emit? 58 did you create it or did We? 59 We have destined death for you and no one can challenge Us 60 To transfigure you and create you in (forms) that you know not. 61 And you have indeed learnt about the first creation, so why do you not ponder? 62 And have you seen that [seed] which you sow? 63 is it you that sow it, or are We the Sower? 64 If We so wished, We could have reduced your harvest to rubble, and you would have been left wonder-struck to exclaim: 65 (Saying), "We are indeed left with debts (for nothing): 66 Nay, but we have been deprived [of our livelihood]!" 67 Consider the water that you drink. 68 Is it you who sent it down from the clouds or is it We who have sent it down? 69 Did We will, We would make it bitter; so why are you not thankful? 70 Have ye observed the fire which ye strike out; 71 Is it you who have produced its tree or is it We who have produced it? 72 We have made it a reminder and an advantage for the wayfarers of the desert. 73 Glorify, then, (O Prophet), the name of your Great Lord. 74

ColorfulQuran.com uses an English translation algorithm that combines several translations on one page. It randomly loads a different translation for each verse with equal probabilities. Each page places a combination of translators from varied cultures, sects, times, countries, cities, and backgrounds together in one room, reflecting unity in diversity, an essential feature of Islam. How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
