Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ THE CONCRETE REALITY. 1 What is the Inevitable Reality? 2 And what will teach thee what is the Indubitable? 3 The tribes of Thamud and 'Ad denied that disaster would strike them: 4 Thamood, they were destroyed by the violent shout (of Gabriel), 5 And the 'Ad were destroyed by the furious cold blast of roaring wind 6 To which He subjected them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that thou mightest have seen men during it lying prostrate, as though they were stumps of palms ruined. 7 and dost thou now see any remnant of them? 8 Then came the Pharaoh, and those before him whose habitations were overthrown while they were committing crimes. 9 And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, so He seized them with a seizure exceeding [in severity]. 10 And when the waters rose (high) We carried you in the sailing (Ark), 11 as a lesson for you, but only attentive ears will retain it. 12 Then when the Horn is blown with one blast 13 and the earth and the mountains are lifted up and crushed with a single blow, 14 So that is the day when the forthcoming event will occur. 15 And the heaven will split [open], for that Day it is infirm. 16 And the angels shall be on the sides thereof; and above them eight shall bear on that day your Lord's power. 17 On that Day you will be brought to judgement and none of your secrets will remain hidden. 18 On that Day, he whose Record is given to him in his right hand will say: “Lo! Read my Record! 19 Surely I knew that I should have to meet my reckoning. 20 So he shall be in a life, well-pleasing. 21 in a lofty paradise, 22 The Fruits whereof (will hang in bunches) low and near. 23 [They will be told], "Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you put forth in the days past." 24 But as for he who is given his record in his left hand, he will say, "Oh, I wish I had not been given my record 25 Nor known whatever was my reckoning! 26 O would that it had made an end (of me): 27 My riches have not availed me, 28 and my authority has been destroyed' 29 Seize him and fetter him, 30 And then expose him to hell-fire 31 Then into a chain whose length is seventy cubits insert him." 32 Verily, He used not to believe in Allah, the Most Great, 33 Nor urged others to feed the poor. 34 so today he has no friend here, 35 Nor any food except from the discharge of wounds; 36 “Which none except the guilty shall eat.” 37
