And remember Our servant Ayyub, when he called upon his Lord: The Shaitan has afflicted me with toil and torment. 41 We said to him, “Strike the earth with your foot; this cool spring is for bathing and drinking.” (A spring gushed forth when he struck the earth – this was a miracle.) 42 We restored his family to him, doubling their number as an act of grace from Us, and as a reminder to all who are endowed with insight. 43 And take in thine hand a handful of twigs, and strike therewith, and break not thine oath. Verily We! We found him patient. How excellent a bondman! Verily he was oft-returning. 44 Remember Our servants Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob -- possessors of strength and vision. 45 Lo! We purified them with a pure thought, remembrance of the Home (of the Hereafter). 46 and, in Our sight they were indeed among the select, the truly good! 47 And make mention of Ishmael and Elisha and Dhu'l-Kifl. All are of the chosen. 48 This is a Reminder, and indeed for the cautious is a fine return, 49 Everlasting Gardens – all its gates are open for them. 50 Reclining on pillows, in it they ask for fruits and drinks in plenty. 51 ۞ And with them shall be those restraining their eyes, equals in age. 52 This is the promise being given to you, for the Day of Reckoning. 53 this is Our provision, unto which there is no end.' 54 This (for the virtuous); but for the transgressors the evil destination, 55 Hell; they shall enter it, so evil is the resting-place. 56 (They will be told), "This is your recompense. 57 And similar other punishments in pairs. 58 “Here is another group that was with you, falling along with you”; they will answer, “Do not give them plenty of open space; they surely have to enter the fire – let them also be confined!” 59 Their followers will say, "In fact, it is you who deserve condemnation. It was you who led us to hell, a terrible dwelling". 60 [And] they will pray: "O our Sustainer! Whoever has prepared this for us, double Thou his suffering in the fire!" 61 They will say to one another: “But why do we not see those whom we considered him among the wicked? 62 [and] whom we made the target of our derision? Or is it that [they are here, and] our eyes have missed them?" 63 Lo! that is very truth: the wrangling of the dwellers in the Fire. 64
