To whosoever blinds himself from the Remembrance of the Merciful, We shall assign him a satan so he is his companion, 36 And most surely they turn them away from the path, and they think that they are guided aright: 37 Until when he comes to Us, he says: O would that between me and you there were the distance of the East and the West; so evil is the associate! 38 But nothing will avail you on that day, for you were unjust, and you will be partners in the punishment. 39 Can you make the deaf to hear, or show the blind, and those lost in clear error, the way? 40 We shall inflict retribution on them, whether We take you away from the world (before We do that), 41 Or (if) We show you that wherewith We threaten them, then verily, We have perfect command over them. 42 So hold fast to what has been revealed to you. You are truly on the right path. 43 Verily it is a great source of eminence for you and your people, and soon you will be called to account concerning that. 44 Inquire of apostles We had sent before you if We appointed gods to be worshipped other than Ar-Rahman. 45
