The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER the heavens and that which comes in the night! 1 And have you understood what the nightly arriver is? 2 The piercing star! 3 There is not a soul but over it is a keeper. 4 So let man consider of what he was created; 5 He has been created from an ejected drop of fluid 6 issuing between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 On the day when hidden things shall be made manifest, 9 and [man] will have neither strength nor helper! 10 By oath of the sky from which comes down the rain. 11 and by the earth bursting with vegetation; 12 this is indeed a Decisive Word, 13 and is no idle tale. 14 They (disbelievers) plot every evil plan, 15 and so am I: 16 so bear with those who deny the truth, and let them be for a little while. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
