The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 when the mountains shall be set in motion, 3 and when she-camels big with young, about to give birth, are left untended, 4 And when the wild beasts are gathered 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 when the buried infant shall be asked 8 for what crime she had been slain, 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 and when Heaven is laid bare; 11 And when the hell is kindled up, 12 And when Paradise is brought near, 13 Every soul shall (then) know what it has prepared. 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 The planets withdrawing into themselves, 16 And by the night as it departs; 17 And by the morning when it shineth forth, 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. 23 He is not chary of making public what is unknown. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 Where then are you going? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 for everyone of you who wishes to follow the Straight Way; 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
