The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the night enshrouding 1 and by the day when it breaks in its glory, 2 and by that (Power) which created the male and female, 3 Indeed your efforts differ. 4 As for he who gives and fears Allah 5 And testifieth to the Good, 6 We will facilitate for him the easy end. 7 And as for him who stinteth and is heedless, 8 And gives the lie to the best,- 9 So We will very soon provide him hardship. 10 When he falls (into Hell), his wealth will not help him. 11 It is indeed for Us to show the way, 12 And most surely Ours is the hereafter and the former. 13 So, I warn you of the blazing Fire. 14 whereat none but the most wretched shall be roasted, 15 Who denies and turns away. 16 Far removed from it will be the righteous 17 the Godfearing who spends his wealth to purify himself; 18 not as payment for any favours that he received, 19 Except the seeking of the pleasure of his Lord, the Most High. 20 And he is going to be satisfied. 21
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
