The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the heaven and the Morning Star 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 The star of piercing brightness; 3 For every soul there is a watcher. 4 So let man see from what he is created! 5 He was created of a gushing fluid, 6 Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Now, verily, He [who thus creates man in the first instance] is well able to bring him back [to life] 8 The Day when secrets will be put on trial, 9 He shall have neither strength nor helper. 10 By the Firmament which returns (in its round), 11 and the earth, bursting forth with plants! 12 It is surely a decisive utterance; 13 it is no merriment. 14 Verily, they are but plotting a plot (against you O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)). 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while. 17
