When your Lord called upon Moses: "Go to the wicked people, 10 the nation of Pharaoh. Will they not fear Me' 11 He said: O my Lord! surely I fear that they will reject me; 12 "My breast will be straitened. And my speech may not go (smoothly): so send unto Aaron. 13 They also have a sin against me, and I fear they will slay me.' 14 Allah said: "Nay! Go you both with Our Signs. Verily! We shall be with you, listening. 15 Go to the Pharaoh and tell him: 'We bring a message from the Lord of all the worlds 16 "'Send thou with us the Children of Israel.'" 17 (Firon) said: Did we not bring you up as a child among us, and you tarried among us for (many) years of your life? 18 And you did (that) deed of yours which you did, and you are one of the ungrateful. 19 He said: I did it then, when I was of those who are astray. 20 so I fled from you, fearing you. But my Lord gave me Judgment and made me one of the Envoys. 21 Is this then the blessing with which you reproach me, that you have the Children of Israel for worshipers' 22 Said Pharaoh, "And what is the Lord of the worlds?" 23 Moses answered: "The Lord of the heavens and the earth and of all that is between them, if you were only to believe." 24 'Do you not hear' said he (Pharaoh) to those around him. 25 [And Moses] continued: "[He is] your Sustainer, [too,] as well as the Sustainer of your forefathers of old!" 26 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "Verily, your Messenger who has been sent to you is a madman!" 27 He said: Lord of the east and the west and whatsoever is in-between, if ye understand. 28 Said he: If you will take a god besides me, I will most certainly make you one of the imprisoned. 29 Said Moosa, “Even if I bring to you something clear?” 30 (The Pharaoh) said: "Then bring it, if you speak the truth." 31 So (Moses) threw his rod, and behold, it was a serpent, plain (for all to see)! 32 And he drew out his hand; thereupon it was white for the observers. 33
