The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 And those who govern the event, 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 hearts will throb on that Day 8 While eyes are downcast 9 They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 So Moosa showed him a magnificent sign. 20 but he cried lies, and rebelled, 21 Then turned he away in haste, 22 and gathered his people together 23 Saying: "I am your lord, most high", 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. 26
