Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Perdition overtake both hands of Abu Lahab, and he will perish. 1 His wealth and what he earns will not avail him. 2 He will [enter to] burn in a Fire of [blazing] flame 3 and so too will his wife who (threw thorns and firewood in the Prophet's way). 4 A twisted rope of palm-leaf fibre round her (own) neck! 5

Almighty God's Truth.

There are memorization exercises for the original Arabic and English transliterated Arabic modes only. The English translation mode has no memorization exercises.

Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
